Engineering change

Optimisation
To increase unit availability and assist maintenance efficiency, AGA Tech has undertaken light and heavy maintenance optimisation on various clients’ high speed Electrical Multiple Units (EMUs).
Whether working directly with a client or in conjunction with consultancies, through understanding the clients’ optimisation aims, undertaking a task by task risk analysis forms the fundamentals of maintenance instruction / cyclic rationalisation.
Thorough review of instructional content together and any other influencing factors enable effective rationalisation and appraisal of their respective periodicities. Submission of optimisation studies is always supported with accompanying documentation such as condition assessments, calculations and visualisation aids to aid understanding and / or breakdown complex systems, i.e. system diagrams, integration concepts and flow charts.

Transit
When an EMU needs to be manoeuvred from one maintenance site to another, without being able to draw power, or via a route diagram that the EMU does not normally travel, a transit move is required.
When undertaken for the first time, from differing locations than previously executed or requiring the EMU’s brakes to apply defined intermediate brake steps, the manoeuvre may require additional equipment to support the transit.
We work with trusted business partners to design and deliver transit equipment.
We author required procedures to document transit processes; this has been undertaken on class 395 and 385s.
Business systems
To provide procedural clarity, we have written and proven many business system documentation.
For a heavy maintenance project, we have facilitated group discussions with key stakeholders to define the project’s documentation needs and have drafted the documents and reinforced their content with diagrammatic enhancements to provide lucidity to potentially complex procedures.
Developmental effectiveness is ensured by encouraging key stakeholders’ active involvement.
Business systems
To provide process and procedural clarity, AGA Tech have written and proven many business system documentation and accompanying flow charts. For a heavy maintenance project, AGA Tech facilitated group discussions with key stakeholders to define a heavy overhaul project documentation needs. Collating all requirements, AGA Tech drafted the documents and reinforced their content with flowcharts to provide lucidity to potentially complex procedures.
